On December 19, 2023, researchers from HUMAK University of Applied Sciences in Finland, Stockholm University in Sweden, Istinye University, Turkish Confederation of the Deaf and Association of Sign Language Interpreters in Turkey came together in an online transnational meeting.
Following the opening speech by Dr. Ülkü Kölemen, the researchers shared their curriculum and syllabus recommendations for the R1a Sign Language Interpreting undergraduate curriculum and R1b Sign Language Education preparatory school outcomes. In the meeting where language curriculum, syllabus design and curriculum design were discussed, the researchers shared ideas based on their own experiences.
In the continuation of the meeting, possible plans and activities within the scope of R3 Deaf Studies and Sign Language Research Center were discussed and details were clarified. The content of the activities shaped in line with the contributions of our partners was enriched and planned.
Finally, the activities carried out and the data obtained for the R2 Sign Language Interpreting Infrastructure Based on Artificial Intelligence in the Context of Finnish Sign Language were shared. Following the data sharing with the partners, an overall evaluation of the project was made and the details of the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting (TPM3) as the final meeting of the project were planned.
